What fruit & veg is in season during summer?

Seasonality is so important when you're planning your menu, particularly when there is so much variety during the summer months. Planning around seasonality will not only ensure the quality of the produce but also help keep your food costs down. To get you started here are some of the fruit & veggies that you should consider incorporating into your menu during the summer months (December - February):

Summer fruit

  • Banana
  • Berries - blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries
  • Stone fruits - mangoes, apricots, cherries, nectarines, peaches
  • Grapes
  • Lychees
  • Papaya
  • Passionfruit
  • Pineapple

Summer vegetables

  • Cucumbers
  • Beans - green beans, flat beans, butter beans
  • Capsicum
  • Celery
  • Eggplant
  • Mushrooms
  • Radish
  • Tomatoes
  • Zucchini
